In my previous professional life (as Notaire dealing with the legal aspects of sales), I realised that many second homes were falling into disrepair due to the absence of their owners: costly damage had occurred in their absence without them being informed, or informed too late. For example, leaks had appeared, damaging the walls or ceilings, or appliances were no longer working. Lack of maintenance depreciates properties and negatively impacts their sale price.
